Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of our most Frequently Asked Questions. If you do not see your question listed below, just send us an email or give us a call.

What is The Noe Valley Clinic?
We are a group of primary care physicians and alternative medicine providers who believe in delivering a better model of care for our patients, including a more comprehensive approach to heath and wellness. Our physician team is multi-disciplinary—incorporating conventional, naturopathic, nutritional and oriental approaches to help our patients achieve optimal health. We use information technology and other unique tools to help us take better care of you—no matter where you are or what your issue is.
What kind of medical care do you offer?
We provide primary and specialty care services for adolescents and adults including annual physicals, preventive education, immunizations, sports injuries, and complicated medical conditions. Because we are an integrative practice, we are also particularly skilled at managing patients with gastrointestinal issues, migraine headache, insomnia, ADHD and women’s health issues.
What's different about your practice?
Unlike most medical practices, ours is designed to meet your needs. Here are some examples of what makes us different:
  • You don't need to wait 2 months to see someone
  • We stay on schedule
  • We listen… carefully, to your needs
  • We take our time… to hear your concerns and educate you about your health
  • You can email your clinician with quick questions that don't require a visit
  • Most importantly, we provide you with integrative and traditional approaches within one setting
Do you accept health insurance?
Yes, we currently accept most forms of PPO and HMO insurance as well as Medicare. As with any visit using health insurance, you're expected to pay any co-payments and deductibles.
Why do you charge a nominal membership fee?
The Noe Valley Clinic is a boutique practice for everyone, not just for the wealthy. To that end, we do not charge the high annual service fees that other boutique practices charge (often as much as $10,000 per year).

Your nominal fee helps us provide you with:

  • a trusted network of skilled clinicians
  • same-day appointments with less hurried, more personalized visits
  • Email and online access to your clinician
  • secure electronic medical records that ensure patient safety and documentation
  • online prescription refills and other helpful online and information services tailored for you
How much does it cost for me to be a patient at The Noe Valley Clinic?
There are no hidden costs when you join The Noe Valley Clinic. When you come in for medical services at Noe Clinic, your health insurance will be billed, and you will be expected to pay your usual co-payments and deductibles -- just like you would with any other provider. The only additional charge is the $149 membership fee which is billed annually.

Can I still see a doctor if I don't have any health insurance?

For non-members, it's $220 for a first time visit and $180 for follow-up visits. Please see our Fee Schedule for a complete listing of services and pricing.
